Managing Homo Sapiens

چکیده
A The evolutionary process in general, and human evolution in particular, are basic to comprehending Homo sapiens. Human evolutionary heritage predisposes human behaviour, and that is what all management systems (including Total Quality Management) seek to affect via training, coordination, and motivation. The evidence of behavioural biology and evolutionary psychology points to two human traits that bear importantly upon the success of managerial efforts. One is the desire for distinction or social status. A comprehension of this behavioural tendency allows managers to anticipate and coordinate employee’s risk-taking activities. A second prominent characteristic is the tendency to reciprocate altruism. Understanding reciprocal altruism and the trade-offs between it and status seeking assists mangers in knowing when it is productive to form work teams, and how to control and motivate teams. The evolutionary perspective we present offers insights into difficulties that frequently arise when Total Quality Management systems are implemented.

Selected Genetic Destination: The Rise of Homo sapiens genomicus
Selected genetic destination is a species’, such as Homo sapiens, possessing control of the genetic evolution of a species (other species and their own species) with the use of genetic engineering techniques (Grandy 2010b). Since the completion of the human genome project in 2003 scientists and philosophers have speculated on the possibility of not only curing numerous diseases, but also the po...
متن کاملIn Silico Analysis of Interleukin-2: a Comparative Study between Homo Sapiens and Mus Musculus
Homo sapiens and Mus musculus genomes have the similarity ranges from 70% to 90% with an average of 85%. Interleukin (IL) has 17 different families among which interleukin 2 (IL2) is present in both Homo sapiens and Mus musculus. IL2 activates the receptor named IL2-R which further proliferate lymphocytes such as T-cell and B-cell. IL2 is a glycosylated polypeptide lymphokine. It requires cleav...
متن کاملBeing human is a gut feeling
Some metagenomic studies have suggested that less than 10% of the cells that comprise our bodies are Homo sapiens cells. The remaining 90% are bacterial cells. The description of this so-called human microbiome is of great interest and importance for several reasons. For one, it helps us redefine what a biological individual is. We suggest that a human individual is now best described as a supe...
